Disney's "The Lion King" alone grossed €37.2 million ($41.7 million), the best result in Spain for any individual movie since 2014's "Ocho apellidos vascos" ("Spanish Affair"), which earned €56.1 million ($62.8 million).

No. 3 at 2019's box office was "Avengers: Endgame," which made the best opening of any film last year with €10.4 million ($11.6 million) over April 26-29, accounting for 74% of total cinema theater takings for the extended weekend.

It's weird how the girls had so much to say bout Lion Quee but it kinda got the last laugh huh?

Love how WRONG they were and love that it surpassed EVERY last remake / live action mess. They have no option but to bow and kiss the ring.

It was bad. Like not even enjoyable outside of the songs bad. Jen vocally did something. But the lazy CGI was a distraction. A major distraction. This could've been monumental without CGI cats. The cast of the musical's prosthetics were compelling enough then, they couldn't have found a bomb ass makeup team in this advanced stage of the game to extend on the prosthetics from the stage? That would've spooked the girls and given them a true take of the emotional journey the musical leads you through. This was a rushed mess with a couple CUTE moments that don't happen enough to escape the whole thing from being terrible

ok so i saw it the other night and agree completely. My biggest gripe is actually with the music or what they did with it

It all felt so slow and cabaret-esque  i know each song is a poem about a certain kind of cat but did it have to be so low energy? I couldn't take

Omg yesss. Whoever was appointed to make sure the pacing of the movie flowed failed. It almost felt like they were doing the songs out of order with their approach

I know the actors were watching the movie at the premiere covering their eyes
