this better not be the single version u think about sending to radios and making a video of cause it gon flop hard
it sounds messy as fuck .... really
A mess
I really hope she doesn't waste a video on this.
I asked for a remix but this ain't it. Everything sound unpolished and Ty's heavy ass voice does nothing on this delicate beat. It's not even a good match for his brand. It just seems rushed and pointless.
If it's a remix why not take the chance to make it special. This doesn't feel special at all!

I don't care for it...

Brandy. Sis. Just release RATHER BE, girl.
Why wouldn't an official cover look...professional? Isn't that why something would look official?
Brandy might need to take her ass back to a major label. Atlantic or something.
This has to be a leak of the unmixed version. Brandy and her team can't think this is sounds good.
Brandy is fine independent.
She just needs to mix this song again.
And leave out her extra/new harmonies.
I am concerned about her single choices. They are sometimes OFF.
"Full Moon" was one of her best single choices.
I remember her saying she wanted to debut with "Best Friend" over "I Wanna Be Down"

Hmmmm I coulda done without the extra layering. But still cute
Ugh. She needs shiz back because those new layers are an absolute tragedy, especially at the end. Wtf
Now it does seem like the harmonies get loud and bright super quick ; and the mixing seems a bit unfinished .
and tbh I prefer the original. But you also have to understand what having Ty on the song does for it.
the moment I heard him, I knew I could hear the song on the radio.
it's still cute— and for all we know it could be an unmixed version.
none the less; I'm glad she's still pushing the album.
I still want a Borderline performance tho too

Y'all talking about TY, but her harmonies sound a mess. This was one of my least faves on the album, and they made it...worse. lol Usually I'm not here for a lazy remix where you just slap someone on the end and call it a day. But I would have preferred that with this. Hopefully the HQ sounds better because this is a mess.

I kind of agree.
But B7 isn't very radio-friendly. I think the single choices are nice this time around, and it's not like there are many choices.
Full Moon and
Two Eleven are the two albums with the biggest missed opportunities imo (When You Touch Me, Nothing, Do You Know, Wish Your Love Away, Slower). Then
Afrodisiac (this album was not very radio friendly but "I Tried" could have been done wonders imo).

Brandy should just hurry up and move on to the next album after the billboard awards next week. Or maybe just become a mixtape girl and give us mixtapes without anything extra.
Idk why everything moves so slow in her camp. It's not hard to put out a consistent and quality aesthetic with consistent production.

I%u2019m not a huge fan of the remix, but b7 is still better than her last two albums that were on major labels so that point is kinda weak as well
No that's my point. You may like the songs better but it's her worst album in terms of quality of production and overall sound. I don't really like 2/11 but its production value is immaculate.
So y%u2019all prefer a well mixed subpar album over a solid album with subpar mixing?
:ohwow:
:dead: well I don't feel that the album is solid enough to make up for the subpar mixing and production. If the songs were knockouts then I would be willing to accept the drop in quality but to me the songs aren't strong enough to offset that.
Like It Was Yesterday, I Wanna Fall In Love, Locked In Love are examples of songs that don't have the best or most consistent production value but the songs themselves are excellent so I don't care. Shit, Locked In Love is one of my favorites of all time and the sound quality and levels are a MESS
But I've also come to understand that a lot of the gorls on here can't tell the difference between a SoundCloud beat and a professional master

Brandy should just hurry up and move on to the next album after the billboard awards next week. Or maybe just become a mixtape girl and give us mixtapes without anything extra.
Idk why everything moves so slow in her camp. It's not hard to put out a consistent and quality aesthetic with consistent production.
I don't understand either!! Rather Be should be the third single and Say Something the 4th. I was hoping we would have a video and single release for Rather Be by now and that the deluxe was coming this month or early next month. By the end of this year and after the Grammys I want to wrap this ERA UP!! I need a new album by Spring/Summer next year...like lets get this going and keep ur name on everybody's lips.

B7 is still fresh but idk if she's really fucking with the previous albums like that . Not too much on Human she gave us something is missing , torn down , camouflage, the definition , true , fall

She'll never move the way she really could and that you guys want her to.
Full moon, human , nsn, an Afro will always go down has her best quality of work. I won't say b7 is garbage but I will say that this is definitely not my go to album with the exception of lucid dream, rather be an say something. Next album hopefully she work with talented producers that will bring shine to Brandy's voice.

LMAO. Its crazy tho because Ty is really popular and his other features be hitting....I really wanted them to work on something new and not this.
LOL Brandy is not one of these new girls. She isn't gonna be dropping a bunch of random singles, mixtapes and EP's.
I doubt we'll have to wait another 8 years, but yeah...be for real. :kii:
bcheap has exalted all of her bodies of work because its the worst
its the weakest vocally
and doesnt have much reply value with this weird ass writing
but i want her to improve because this is a debut independent mess
proving the machine was very much needed
Just listened again but Brandy didn't need to rework anything but add Ty as a 3rd verse... maybe some extra adlibs after his but she did too much and should've kept her 2nd verse
B7 is not for everybody. But it's not a terrible album. It's better than at least 2 of Brandy's other albums.

its like come on now we know u hear that
:uhh:
When did I say I didn't hear the imperfections in the mixing ? Do you just overlook when I point them out too ? Or...
i guess this is similar to the love again solo version in terms of adding a bit too much.
i would've added the additional harmonies that she did already pretty early on in the song more towards the end, kept her climax adlibs (where she was going off, dont know why they cut them out) and just removed some of the newly added vocals.
overall i cant be bothered too much, i can always listen to the original version if i feel like it and the gp will probably not even mind this version.
It really just isn't mixed well. It sounds like it would be dope if it was. SHE did not post the track so MAYBE and PROBABLY this isn't a final version???

well the era is bittersweet
i dont get to say the music is all that good
i dont get to say the vocals are all that good
but seing what shes capable of independent has kinda established that we take her work for granted
and it needs to be revered more
so its like a 25 anniversary ep for me
i do want her to get another grammy
want her writing to improve and budget to come back
want her to get her a writers room leave it to the professionals
and be great
and stop with the second guessing herself reworking songs so heavily
I think you do too much but I agree with some of this but Brandy needed this to know who she is as an artist...this is the most sure of herself that I have seen her in over 20 years. She needed to come up from the ground and build herself back up and believe in her gift.
>>><<<
The next era will be even bigger/better and I truly believe that with everything in me.
Like she said; B7 was a healing album for her
Imagine what Brandy will be/is recording in the headspace she's in now and with the opportunities she has now. So exciting
nope nope nope dont want to hear it
she took her heealed azz and recorded this track after the release of that album
were no longer doing the unheard and unreleased potential brandy is gonna slay and be better than ever routine
right now in october 2020 shes putting out bullshit
and thats the energy untill further notice
I don't agree bby
But ok
Can't wait until your energy is on shutting the fuck up ❤️

In summer 2021 hopefully covid-19 will be under control and Brandy can release another album. Camper needs to stay far away! She need to get in with some current producers, Rodney or Tim.

Ddddd this is strongly worded but I kinda agree. This release really burst the bubble of anticipation and hopefulness that she'd deliver after all those years. For some this album worked, and for others it was underwhelming. I'm sad that it's shaken my faith in her ability to produce another classic, but maybe it's for the best. With lower expectations maybe the next mess will feel better to me. It's just hard to reconcile bc I've always put her on a pedestal above every other artist and with B7 she showed (to me at least) that shes not really capable of delivering without the right people involved. Her current team doesn't seem like the type to be honest and push her to be better.
So yeah, all that to say that the expectation of her next mess to be revolutionary ain't realistic anymore. She's showed what she's capable of on B7 after working on it for 4 years, so no point in wishing for any better the next go round.
The song wasn't released today so it seems like this may not be the final and it is probably still being worked on.
Might be best to wait until the official release before writing the thesis and dissents.
Love all this positivity!
The songs sucks but that ain't got shit to do w/ B7 as a whole.
B7 is a masterpiece that is still on repeat, and everyday I find something new to obsess over. That's why any remix has to go above and beyond, cause the music is gorgeous as is.

Yes and I honestly think that was the lesson for most of us placing her on a pedestal
now its like Okay we really see its just the voice and nothing else really not even her ear and musical choices can even be on that pedestal anymore. weve touted her as this magical vocal producer in which she does have some skills but not enough to pull off a project by herself clearly
The universe showed me with the dc incident that the idolatry needs to stop
and everytime i fall back into it something happens removes her from the pedestal again
If you remember i was the main one saying dont drag her the album will come when its time
and in 2020 its time
time to see that shes not a musical savior
time to see that it really was the machine when its all said and done
time to see shes no ones writer
time to see she cant even produce her own mess right
time to see she ain't on point when it comes to her product
time to see that because of lack of vision she cant do a simple song without ruining the essence of it with her so called "perfectionist" bullshit cause aint shit perfect
and so now its about giving her her flowers now because its a wrap
the era is about celebrating her more than new hot music
and again the universe let the b7 turn me way the fuck off again
and when i get sucked into the hype this shit gets released
im so done lol

Lew, you have realized all of this but your fat ass is still sitting there repeating the same paragraphs over and over again since May.
Use that consistency to find a decent job, lose some weight and empty all the piss bottles that sit and marinate next to your air mattress, man.
A ban would be more appropriate because lord.
Is this even real? Don't really feel like listening. Tired of Ty Dolla but I'm sure she's gonna be on his album too. That's gonna be great

You need help.
If you're that concerned, use that energy to showcase mixing skills and submit it to her team and maybe you'll be able to help mix the next album.
The album is not terrible. The lyrics are not terrible. I get that the song structures are weird. I get that the mixing may not be the best. But to discredit her as an artist just because you don't like her first independent album is going too far. She had others worrying about mixing for almost 30 years. This is her first time. Give her room to make mistakes at it. Give her room to grow at it.
Ranting in every thread about the same thing solves what?

Nobody asked you to gloss over it.
You past "gloss over" about 25 rants ago.
If it's her debut as an artist, then by the standard a lot of legends never debuted as an artist.

Did you ever ponder if maybe it not being technically precise was also part of the artistic expression? Maybe, just maybe, that was a part of the approach and another form of expressing the subject matter and the various stages of mental health.
You've followed Brandy long enough to know the public version of her highs and lows. Try connecting her story to the songs and see it for her connection to healing, instead of your own. Because only seeking healing and emotional connection from your favorite artist, without regard for their own, can be selfish.
The way b7 was mixed is intentional. The dude that mixed it also posted b7 clips from early this year and he mixes for everyone in the industry and is a 10X Grammy award winning mixer. Brandy follows him and his IG is jayceonjoshua.

No i did not ponder that because during afrodisiac era she stated that this album was not as technical as the others so she was bringing a more raw voice to sessions and wasnt overdoing the vocals to the ground :)
and for b7 she stated that part of the delay was making sure she and everything sounds clear
so i honestly think she missed alot of things because she does not know how to listen for the glitches enough to relay to an engineer what needs to be fixed

Brandy should never make basic RNB anymore and I don't think she will after Borderline nabs her at least 1 Grammy. The Billboard Awards performances were or are filmed this week, at least Cardi B's was, so Brandy's mind likely is solely on that.

well the era is bittersweet
i dont get to say the music is all that good
i dont get to say the vocals are all that good
but seing what shes capable of independent has kinda established that we take her work for granted
and it needs to be revered more
so its like a 25 anniversary ep for me
i do want her to get another grammy
want her writing to improve and budget to come back
want her to get her a writers room leave it to the professionals
and be great
and stop with the second guessing herself reworking songs so heavily
Ch ... Where is ur Music career... ? cause u acting like you've accomplished everything this gurl did...but i bet u can't even do a quarter of what she did her whole career... *click on baby mama's part "U can't do it quite like i can"
We all know that when it comes to managing an era, bran and her team are NEVER on point and it's been like that since at least Human but she's still standing and on her grind even more now...
Yeah the single choices are not always the right ones but if there's a couple of things u can't deny and take from her is her vocal abilities and her ear to make even the most boring beat sound great as a whole...and the whole industry cant say otherwise.
Now u dont like the album.. FINE! but to act like she's less than the great artist that she is....! absolutely not ! and u're doin way to much.
for example. Whitney's last album was underwhelming to me, production and vocals wise... was she less of a great singer after that to me?! nop. (plus she lost her vocal abilities but still) it didnt take away all the things she accomplished ...
So y'all need to stop acting like Bran's music is the pits and that she's a lessor .. y'all will not.
it's one thing to not like this project and some of her choices related to that but to act like just because of one project u dont like she's not the icon that she is... ch..please... several seats.
oh by the way, i H.A.T.E. this remix... but Bran>>>>>> y'all favs!

Most people? So are we to act like other genres (rock, blues, etc.) don't make music that focused on pain and the lows of life? But Higher vibrations!!!!
No shade, but it's not hard to see why a person who refuses to deal with their own mental issues wouldn't like an album based around dealing with mental issues.
Is this why they were in the studio?

i dont get to say the vocals are all that good
but seing what shes capable of independent has kinda established that we take her work for granted
and it needs to be revered more
so its like a 25 anniversary ep for me
i do want her to get another grammy
want her writing to improve and budget to come back
want her to get her a writers room leave it to the professionals
and be great
and stop with the second guessing herself reworking songs so heavily

I dont understand this logic we all have our ways we can be successful if bran has found great success with her art that is amazing but it doesnt invalidate anyone elses
My career is not in music but i do have some experience in the engineering side of it mostly because I wanted my own production to be as close to industry standard as possible and it is alot to study and experience but that is beside the point but we as fans have been forced to move our attention and focus away from bran mostly to cultivate our own talents. So its all a learning experience

Her career speaks for itself I dont have the power to do that and im not trying to
but the veil has been lifted and our expectations are adjusting accordingly
As ive said Im still in shock by what the veil lift has revealed
but its getting better
and whitneys last album is on my phone right now its a great effort given what shes been through
but she kept its cute remaining just the voice

Well shes definitely been knocked off the pedestal
which is not surprising very powerful structures and people have been brought down and taken off their pedestals as well this year even pre covid
but as ive stated this era is more celebratory for her complete body of works and career
and we are gaining more appreciation for it
rather than dismissing it as old energy that can be outdone by the next project
thanks for your input

that could work if i was the only one underwhelmed with the era or didnt hear the issues
we can also say you are equally as slow
with you taking her weakest mess and saying its everything
while trashing her iconic works
you can easily recognize slowness because its part of your own belief system

Get into him doing the iconic Brandy YEA YEA YEA paying homage tho. I think the unpolished version leaked by accident I'm sure it will be cleaned up( I hope) lol either way it adds some balance to the song.

Ain't u tired?!
Its not negative
the release is flawed
the end
Let it go you been saying this in every bran thread since the release ! We get your point the first time no need to keep bringing up the same thing in every thread related to B7 the album is different but still enjoyable plus it was therapeutic for her. As someone "special" you should understand what this album means to her.
I'm sorry but Mary's happy mess is way more successful than her sad mess....
but back to this song it's Dope or serves it purposes for radio

It's just hard to reconcile bc I've always put her on a pedestal above every other artist and with B7 she showed (to me at least) that shes not really capable of delivering without the right people involved. Her current team doesn't seem like the type to be honest and push her to be better.
So yeah, all that to say that the expectation of her next mess to be revolutionary ain't realistic anymore. She's showed what she's capable of on B7 after working on it for 4 years, so no point in wishing for any better the next go round.
Lew I think you are exaggerating to ridiculous levels. You don't seem to be much of a fan anymore. It's okay to leave.

Lew you kinda have been going from brandy thread to brandy thread since 7/31 letting us know how you feel about b7 in every thread. I think the gorls are tired of it. So I think maybe next brandy thread just link them to this one or any other cause we all know how you feel by now .... no shade at all
and i dont care im responding to the threads about the mess as i see fit
the ppul that like it continue to post
the ppul that dont continue to post
and thats beauty of the world
and it would be nice if this bullshit she just released was a step up
but its not so

well the era is bittersweet
i dont get to say the music is all that good
i dont get to say the vocals are all that good
but seing what shes capable of independent has kinda established that we take her work for granted
and it needs to be revered more
so its like a 25 anniversary ep for me
i do want her to get another grammy
want her writing to improve and budget to come back
want her to get her a writers room leave it to the professionals
and be great
and stop with the second guessing herself reworking songs so heavily
Ddddd this is strongly worded but I kinda agree. This release really burst the bubble of anticipation and hopefulness that she'd deliver after all those years. For some this album worked, and for others it was underwhelming. I'm sad that it's shaken my faith in her ability to produce another classic, but maybe it's for the best. If this album was released without brandys name or anticipation
it would be one thread sayin hey guys check out this album has a few good tracks
and thats real
Lew wtf is your problem? You obviously have some healing to do. You seem more deranged than usual.

If that were the truth id be saying its a masterpiece
I think if i were the first to express dismay about a brandy product maybe
Part of the problem is my stance admitted or not
Ppul can see the truth
But there issue is with me speaking on it really
A get over it tea
But i haven made any new threads just respinding to the new ones

the same retardation that had you going in and out of every full moon thread saying its trash
fuck you dyke
I think at this point just skip the track if you are not feeling it. I do understand the frustration.. maybe in the future some tracks will grow or make sense.
This is definitely a Camper era and in the future other producers will probably get a shot again. Whatever makes Brandy happy. I'm glad she is excited and the public recognizes her talent and amazing work she has created over the years.
I'm happy there is enough music to chose from in Bran's discography. I'm currently addicted to What are we doing and Optimistic. I'm also playing with the order of the tracklist of B7. And I think I will revisit her early work again today. There is a mood for everyone.
Brandy will always be the vocal bible
I don't know anyone who can sing like that
seriously.. a song like this or album that isn't what I expected isn't going to change that..
her passion for runs, bg vocals
the albums she created
Accomplishments like Moesha, Cinderella and playing in Chicago (the work ethic, transforming that Roxie character to something true to her)
Her drive to continue recording music even tho she had to deal with personal problems and a lot of tragedy..
her enthusiasm during Verzuz..
the list continues

I love the final version
Quick question since this thread is new and active lol... can somebody explain to me why y'all gave Brandy the nickname Ghan and what it means? I remember her saying once before she likes when people call her that nickname but I don't know where it came from or what it means lol
