I fucking hate how much Janet's legacy is disrespected. I hate it so much. Sis has one of the most flawless catalogues in R&B/pop music. She was "for the culture" before it was a damn thing.

Beyonce is a beast, but honestly I don't listen to her music in my free time at ALL. I'll watch her perform all day because that's when her songs really come to life for me, but I'm not really moved by just her music alone.

This is exactly how I feel about Beyonce. Love to see her perform and show out and really do her thing. But I'm not so into just her music.

This video is the perfect example of why it doesn't need to happen. Everyone is gonna give it to Bey by default and the newer generations don't even know Jans catalog. This is stupid. 

Bey doesn't have more bigger hits than Jans... hers are just more memorable and current to us. Two completely different generations. Our generation is so weird and can only see/recollect what's right in front of them... I'm not even a Jans, but this is late.
