QuoteIt looks like a sequel to the classic television show "Saved By The Bell," is in the works, and some of the original cast members are already on board to reprise their roles.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC Universal announced their new streaming service, Peacock, and revealed that they are teaming up with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley for a new "Saved By The Bell" series. Sources say the streaming service is also in talks with other cast members to possibly return.

Based on the synopsis, the new series will "explore what happens when California Gov. Zack Morris (Mark Gosselaar) gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools and proposes the affected students be sent to the highest-performing schools in the state — including Bayside High."

Viewers can expect to see Mario reprise his role as A.C. Slater and Elizabeth as Jessie Spano, and according to sources, both characters will fall into the role as parents.

"Saved By The Bell" originally aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993 for a total of four seasons. It later led to other spinoff shows such as "Saved By The Bell: Hawaiian Style," "Saved By The Bell: College Years," and "Wedding in Las Vegas" special.NBC's new streaming service "Peacock," is set to launch in April 2020, and original shows will be added to the platform in Summer of 2020.

Roommates, are you looking forward to this "Saved By The Bell," sequel?
