Mariah doesn't really have a contemporary that could match up with her for a verzuz.

People are asking for a Mary vs Faith, but seem to think that a Toni vs Mary is crazy? Now Mariah, is a quite a bit out of her or Mary's league. Anyone going against Mariah other than Janet or Madonna is crazy. 

Toni is really the only person that could go against Mary. Mary has released a lot more music, so it makes it seems as if she is much more successful than Toni. They both came out around the same time, but Toni owned the first 10 years, Mary the next 10 and neither have done anything huge in the last 7-8.  But, at her peak. Toni was definitely bigger than Mary has ever been.

Toni vs Mary wouldnt make sense. Mary J's career was sitll on fire after 2000. Toni never had a successful era or hits after The Heat album. She needs to be paired with someone that mainly had hits in the 90s, early 2000s. Mary and Mariah would be a better pairing. They had hits during the same decades. And its prob the only realistic one I can see Mary J agreeing to do.

I dont really know who would be a good match for Toni. Maybe she should sit this one out.

Toni never kept it moving like the other girls. She had 2 very successful eras, but when you put her up against a Mariah or Mary (whose had 6 very successful eras even) it just doesn't make sense. OR if she consistently released great music, which she didn't.  

maybe someone like Faith. Faith has slightly less chart success, but her music is >>>. Could be a cute matchup
