Her Internet presence is pretty strong, the blogs stay posting her, she's always booked for a show, traveling the country doing meet and greets, plenty of in-station radio interviews...she's kinda out there. yeah, i feel so bad for these female R&B artists. They work hard to do albums and put out great music, but they get overlooked. When they finally do release a single, they get dragged through the mud by other fanbases. For starters...Mon never wanted to be famous or a singer. She performed at a talent show with hopes of ONLY winning the cash prize to get her mother a gift for her Bridal Shower, but ended up landing a deal with Clive Davis in the process. She originally wanted to do hair. Aaliyah and Brandy both were actively pursuing music careers at an early age before they got signed. So their drive and passion was much stronger to be creative as an artist. With that being said...I'm not sure why the constant comparisons keep being brought up.

If K. Michelle can fund a lot of her own videos, then I think Monica can do it herself. It's obvious that she cares more about this record than RCA does and I think she needs to take more of it into her own hands. Like Young said, she showed that she's taking a bit of control because she pushed it back to get the word out, but it's about to be October and "Just Right For Me" has been out for months. Gone on and pay for that video out of pocket and keep it moving.
I really had high hopes for Mon' she's one of the legendary R&B singers on the 90s generation. She deserves so much more but they did the same thing to Brandy during Two Eleven and gave Monica all that damn promo so I'm a bit pleased but sad at the same time.
