Sorry. I think I came at you strong because I had an experience like that before in Charlotte. Some ignorant African American female barber was cutting my hair and was pulling my roots trying to examine it and make sure it wasn't chemically treated then she was like "oh! surprised because you're darker skinned, usually light skin people have this hair"....

Then of course proceeded to ask about my family heritage.
She wasn't joking either.
