My grandparents are both in their late 80s and they are still very active and they eat meat every damn day almost
My grandfather on my father's side lived until he was 103 
A balanced diet with no added sugars, fizzy drinks and alcohol seems more feasible to me.

Mya was a carb queen she has admitted to that. She started out as a vegetarian through a will power challenge and stuck with it. Eventually she made the leap from vegetarianism to veganism. It's obviously paying off for her if she's still with it. It'll be four years next month.
