Ella Mai's 'Boo'd Up' Is R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart's Longest-Running No. 1 by a Woman This Decade

As Ella Mai?s ?Boo?d Up? secures a 13th week atop the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated Sept. 15), it surpasses the 12-week command of Alicia Keys? ?Unthinkable? in 2010 to become the longest-running No. 1 by a female artist of the 2010s decade thus far.

Among songs by women, ?Boo?d? secures the longest stay at No. 1 on the chart since Mary J. Blige?s ?Be Without You? reigned for 15 weeks in 2006 -- still the benchmark for most weeks at No. 1 among female acts since the chart began in 1992.

With a 13th frame in charge of R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Mai?s ?Boo?d? ties Toni Braxton?s 1996 smash ?You?re Makin? Me High? for third place among songs by women with the most weeks at No. 1. The pair trail only Blige?s ?You? and Mariah Carey?s ?We Belong Together,? a 14-week champ in 2005. Among all songs, Miguel?s ?Adorn? tops the all-time leaderboard, with a 23-week domination in 2012-13.

Here?s an updated look at the longest-running No. 1s by on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which began Oct. 3, 1992.

Weeks at No. 1, Song, Artist, Year(s) at No. 1
23, ?Adorn,? Miguel, 2012-13
15, ?Hotline Bling,? Drake, 2015-16
15, ?Be Without You,? Mary J. Blige, 2006
14, ?Hold On, We?re Going Home,? Drake, 2013-14
14, ?Pretty Wings,? Maxwell, 2009
14, ?Blame It,? Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain, 2009
14, ?We Belong Together,? Mariah Carey, 2005
13, ?Boo?d Up,? Ella Mai, 2018
13, ?Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey),? The Weeknd, 2015
13, ?Can?t Be Friends,? Trey Songz, 2010-11
13, ?You?re Makin? Me High,? Toni Braxton, 1996

?Boo?d? looks in a favorable position to challenge for Carey and Blige?s marks in the coming weeks, as the song continues to show growth even this deep into its chart life. The single posts a 4 percent gain to 37 million in audience in the week ending Sept. 9, according to Nielsen Music.
