Wouldn't Elvis be considered Iconic in the sense of how you're defining Icon and Legend?

Hmmm.... This actually is a good point
I believe you're right

COD.

Madonna is def a legend. Her stats are legendary and her tour gross continues to slay all the other girls. Plus her flawless video catalog and massive amount of hits and pop culture influence.

I think the difference is a Legend is destined to be one whether the sales start pouring in or not.

Kinda like an unstoppable force

BUT

Will that transcend when she passes tho?

Brocka was right. I can't honestly say Elvis influence is everywhere, but he was a big presence, sold a lot.

But with Whit and Michaels passing, it was clear their influence will last decades after they're gone.

And it's already clear Aretha's will, even tho she's still here
