I'm realizing I don't love the way brandy sings and records music anymore. I listened to a good portion of it last night and I hate that there's always focus on EVERYTHING else except the lead vocal. She highlights harmonies  and ooh aahs too much for me. Sometimes I just want to hear her hit a note STRONGLY and without the other shit going on to divert our attention from the notes.  Guys idk

I can see the frustration with that. There are a few times she coulda hit a note but she didn't. Do you think that is more her, or the person producing the record, not pushing her enough to "go there"?

There are times when I would've appreciated a BELT vs the rasp. BUT I must say for this album, it works.

I love party for two. I have played it everyday, since it was released. I said in the party for 2 thread, that it is a song I can add to my sex play list cause I can listen to it year round and not think of Xmas really.

BUT, it doesn't put me in a Christmas mood like "Christmas everyday" does. I prolly won't listen to it again past Christmas.

I was worried after reading the Variety interview when she said she would put her spin on the songs.

Same! I couldn't put my finger on it too, that's why i have the Camper track on repeat but this makes me realize how Lashawn or a vocal producer is essential to Brandy's craft b/c she needs those ppl to push her or give her a different approach when she gets comfortable

I'm literally crying .HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS 2:19-2:41 is the classic brandy vocal I've been yearning for . This song is literal perfection and the only time I heard signature "yea yea" ... idk man ... took me back .... Great job Rocka .. I feel like this should be a single.
