Bran, if you're reading, re-record the song and leave the stacks and layers at home when you hit the studio.

Let your voice speak for itself. Just imagine the live performances  :gorlonfire:

If she re-records this song, she's definitely adding a ton of stacks and runs, so yeah, there's that. Could just leave it alone lol but I'd love for it to be released

I wouldn't assume that at all. Brandy is a very smart singer and tasteful when she's at her best. I think she's dealt with some health stuff vocally the last 2-3 years and is on the mend. She briefly touched on it when she spoke to Silent and TrueExclusives during the Christmas era in 2023.

It's similar to the issues she had about 10 years prior when she was recording with Robert Glasper, Jessie J and the Chris Brown feature. Then she drops "Magic" the very next year and sounds like a completely different and healthy vocalist. I think she falls on bad habits (most singers have at least one bad habit) and relies on acrobatics when her other tools aren't the sharpest. She's still very tasteful in the studio compared to what she was doing on stage recently but once you're contractually obligated to do certain shows, it's too late to say "hey my voice ain't ready right now". Monica was also dealing with insane vocal difficulties before the tour but they'd both signed on the dotted line and it was too late.

I say all that to say, I have a feeling before the year is out, we're gonna slowly get more true live performances from her and she's gonna cut that mic back on. This was the first time she's seriously sung acapella on camera in years and she's sounding like herself again as far as those sweet spots go. With ease!

Listening to her all night. She reminded me yet again that there will never be another voice like this one. Ever.

Her voice just naturally changes but idk why when y'all hear rasp you think it's a health issue lol she just naturally has a raspy tone which I think she controls more so than not
