Meera Solanki, 29, had been celebrating her birthday with friends in Solihull in the West Midlands.

She told Birmingham newspaper the Sunday Mercury that the man had "harassed" the group before telling her friend of Chinese origin to "take your f***ing coronavirus and take it back home".

When Ms Solanki stood up for Mandy Huang, 28, the man punched her in the face.

Ms Solanki was in hospital for six hours before taking a week off work.
