It really is a black thing IMO. My brother is 6'2 and damn near 20 and when my cousin spends the night these two over grown ass niggas will still sleep in the same bed sometime. They really aren't of the whole "urban mentality". I think that only when people take issue with this type of thing and make others become self conscious is when they change these behaviors. I finally feel I've found the last and most important piece though. The craziest part is that it was there the whole time right inside of the ancestry I was skipping and hopping over this entire time -- Europe. So ashamed about slave blood and mess not wanting to look into it. I think I made it a lot harder on myself than it had to be.
Afraid to find something that would make me sad when I have nothing to be ashamed of. Actually found a city with my family's last name right on the border of TX and Louisiana. You never know. And finally made sense of why people keep calling me Haitian. :dead: All through Europe. I encourage anyone who does the test to just dig into everything, even the parts you think may not need to be explored.

We were discussing Christmas & Kwanzaa at my job last week, and I was reciting the principles of Kwanzaa with everyone. One guy felt the need to ask where my family is from. I said I'm black and from America. He then said "the America(s)"? Putting the "s" on the end.....it's like he was pushing me toward saying I'm Haitian or West Indian or something (all part of "The Americas") :dead: :dead: :dead: But I guess he realized the workplace is nowhere to state your thoughts on where someone in from and didn't outright say it. :dead: I could clearly see what he was trying to do though. My answer wasn't sufficient.
No, I'm black from America and Imma sit here and recite these Kwanzaa principles hun. Who the hell are you to question where I'm from and make suggestions on what you think my origins are when I give you an answer, trying to push me toward what you think is my truth. What the hell does that have to do with me knowing Kwanzaa principles? At the end of the day they apply to me as a black man in America, cops will not see "the America(s)". They gon see a black got damn man. People in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, or whatever are originally from Africa. Kwanzaa celebrates African pride. So I didn't see the correlation of that question to what I was reciting with him.
This is the kind of mess that pushed me to take these tests to begin with. Ignorance.
