Given Lew's recent comments about his conceptions regarding doing business with black people (which surprised me, given his history of being so pro-black), I'd have to admit that his comments may reveal something that even the most "pro-black" person will probably not discuss.
Do we sometimes as a people, adopt and even make decisions based on prejudice or stereotypes about blacks?
Do we sometimes automatically assume that when we see the name "Toquesha" somewhere, that she is ratchet, when she could be holding a Masters degree and a great job under her belt?, etc.
Do we see a black man with a hood on walking toward us and clinch our manbags a little tighter? Is it just Lew? Or is he the only person being upfront with his feelings...
yes
dsssssssss
stereotypes exist because they are sometimes true
however, theres an exception to every rule.
i like to give people the benefit of the doubt always, then read them down
It's only natural to make judgments and assumptions on people based on several different criteria
But to assume ALL of any group of people is the same is dumb as fuck. Especially when you belong.
That's why I hate a good portion of the people on here.
Any time I prejudge a nigger I was always 95% right.
Not black people....just people in general. Its a defense mechanism I guess.

I see what you mean.
But "several different criteria" that you evaluate immediately upon first glance of someone obviously wouldn't include a personal relationship or any substantial, factual information regarding their lives or character.
So is it OK to base it off of "certain criteria" only, or is it just as bad as doing it at all?

Of course it's bad to judge
But I do it
:supluv:
I have to. It's how we learn about human nature IMO.
There can only be so many types of people and personalities in this world.
And I want to figure them ALL out.

i never prejudged shit
i get excited when i see blacks in positions and i love dealing with my people
but my experiences with them that go sour will not be overlooked
just because im pro black doesnt mean i have to sugar coat my experiences with niggers that do fit the damn stereotypes
its always one extreme to the next with yall
either ur pro black or ur racist chile go awn
but blacks absorbs all that whitey propoganda and they act on it just like whites and others do
but yeah dont call me out cus i aint the one to be callin out

I usually give people the benefit of the doubt regardless of how they dress, talk, act blah blah until they reveal their true nature.
I'm always prepared for some MESS in advance though.
Yeah i give everyone the benifit....until you open your mouth.
Just based off appearance, no. But once you include a few sentences I tend to judge. It has nothing to do with proper english either. Purely how one respond to things in their enviroment.
Ive been fortunate to meet some of the most enlightened hood niggas. Wise beyond their years and very intelligent. Maybe not in the context of academics but there are many forms of intelligence. This one drug dealer I grew up with was very business savy and once I went to college and took economics I realized alot of what he taught me was real business models. Im sure he didnt know but he couldve been on wall street if he applied himself. Some of the most powerful quotes Ive obtained were from Baltimore City junkies!
