i dont mean to HARP on the fact that i don't believe in God
but i def find myself stopping short of throwing out a generic, christianity-based lines
like, "thoughts and prayers", etc.
cuz they're so ENGRAINED into our everyday speech.
so when they cross my mind, im like wait i don't really MEAN that, so why would i say or type it
sfsffsfss and i find another way to say the same thing.
i believe in the "power" of God, although I don't believe in him ....if that makes sense.
i don't think there's some man up in the sky sitting and waiting for people to come to him after their death, but i understand how impactful believing in a high power can be.
i think the concept of God has saved a lot of people's lives. when they may have found that they're down to their last straw, and nowhere to turn, they can pray. it gives them SOLACE. makes the unprotected feel protected. that's the true power of "God" at work IMO.
religion does bring some CHALLENGES though - especially within the gay community, and that's a whole other discussion.
but yeah.
Thoughts and prayers arent exclusive to religion
our thoughts
our affirmations (things we say)
our visualizations (day dreams what we think about)
speaks to the god that is already with in us as work
fall under the catagory of thoughts and prayers lol
we use god to console ppul though like were gonna pray god makes it all better
but i find that funny because god is the one who decides when ppul are called home
we really hope ppul find strength and comfort somehow in their trials
and most of the events that happen to us are written in the stars to happen for our personal growth and development
ppul just dont know what to say
