Meet Channing Dungey: First Black Person To Run A Major TV Network -blogged by @avah_taylor -

#ChanningDungey has been named the new president of ABC Entertainment Group and will replace outgoing president Paul Lee, who resigned from the position.
According to The Huffington Post, she has become the first black person to head up a major broadcast network.

She most recently served as an executive VP at ABC, managing the "development and production of all drama pilots, movies and miniseries. "

Dungey was also instrumental in launching some of the network's highest-rated series, including "Scandal," "Once Upon A Time," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and "How To Get Away with Murder. "
"I've had the great honor of working alongside the talented team at ABC for many years and look forward to starting this exciting new chapter with them," she said.
"Channing is a gifted leader and a proven magnet for top creative talent, with an impressive record of developing compelling, breakthrough programming that resonates with viewers," said Ben Sherwood, president of Disney-ABC Television Group. #blackgirlsrock
