And tbh the label knew wtf they were doing
Because I KNOW IABTM was not the best option to choose from
TBIM gave classic Brandy
The melodies and things ; Brandy
should have done a MONS sounding records
Which is why Bran wanted Polow or Missy
Not no damn RICO
That damn funeral beat
GORL
ffffffff
It does give a ?When the Saints Go Marchin In? mess. From the drum snares to the piano chords. I blame Monica because she said she really fought for the song and went above and beyond to get it. It was a waste of time and promo. That really could?ve been another historical moment for them both
I honestly don't believe that was the only song Mon brought to the label as an option.
And tbh I think RCA forced the RICO mess---during that era they were both with him
I just think that was the best song out of Rico's catalog, and since it was initially for Robert Kelly, they fought to have that one.
But it is no way shape or form a Monica sounding record. And that was the problem,
Vocally it was produced well though
