I feel like Candiace might be playing a long game. It was very clear in the article that the decision was all hers, and not necessarily permanent. I'm sure she sees the show needs some work/revamping. It wouldn't surprise me if she's taking a step back to allow her presence to be missed a bit while Bravo works out the kinks.
