Personally I think she may be genuinely influenced or inspired by country in some way

But I wouldn't put it past fas to throw a new concept owt just to rebrand herself.

Especially considering that it seems to be working

People are shocked and people are talking, as the songs rise . But As an artist she has every right to dip and dabble as she pleases.

Not my cup of tea but i understand.

These white people are out here twerking and puttin on their best Blaccent . And benefitting from it .

Do ur thang goddess

Quote from: Vonc2002 on February 18, 2024, 06:03:06 AMNow I came in here ready to shade Ray because I think he's a hypocrite, Beyonce making a country album is about as natural and authentic as a cow swimming in the damn sea, and I know this man is a country musician and he is entitled to feel a way about a mf just hopping in the genre for shits and giggles BUT who tf is "THEY"  :uhh:
do you know her? Have you heard anything about her upbringing? I'm trying to see what about Beyonce says not country

Has nothing to fr do with Vonc in particular but....

You know what's the funniest thing about all this?

For the last 20+ years everyone has said this bitch is and sounds like a dumb country bumpkin. But the moment she embraces it  :dead:  now Being country is foreign.
She not even putting on an accent in this song either. That's just how her country ass sounds when she speaks. Dhdbdbdhdbdndhdbdh

If the gorls were shimmying it up with Katy and rooting Britney on as she dropped it low with Danja

We can't tell fas to stop what she's doing

I can tell her I'm bored 🥱 but I won't tell her to stop.

We're so used to people overstepping their boundaries in our culture that it's become commonplace .

We are everywhere . And in many instances we don't get paid for it . Even down These large companies using Ebonics/AAVE in their ad campaigns with no clear input from an actual Black person . Which is painfully evident cuz of how incorrectly it's used or how CORNY it is.

GIFs of Black people being used for humor from the office to social media. Yes I get it we are creative we are funny and we have a good time . But I still roll my eyes .

Let those rednecks get a taste of the mess. If anything we can take a few lessons on how hard to they're pushing back to gatekeep their tea. And start pushing THEIR folks out of our wheelhouse .

Yeehaw into the damn sunset goddess.

So, I wonder how he feels about Post Malone all of a sudden wanting to do country music

Honestly fuck that whole "we invented country" argument

We don't even have to go back that far and dig that deep to justify why fas is entering a space that has been primarily occupied by whites for decades.

She's doing it just like Justin Britney Katy n em did. Now what's next

well one could argue that those who are saying "u don't know her !" ... don't know her either

If anything going on evidence of what she's presented to the public over the years is the more reasonable and fair approach

This is ultimately is about perception - as no one in here really knows fas. and someone's perception is formed largely based on what they see.
yes and ever since she's been in the public eye she has been a country ass black girl from Houston. She has worn denim and cowboy hats, spoken in a country accent, talked about loving Popeyes chicken. That's why I'm asking what about her is screaming NOT country. The only way I could see someone saying she's not being herself is if they know her and know something we don't

Young

I really love that Beyonce is doing this

Make them Fume Queen

I'm kinda surprised how supportive people are with her new direction.
Usher's sells still haven't recovered after trying EDM.

someone being from Texas doesn't automatically mean that  country music is ingrained in them, thats stupid  :dead:
Beyonce has never spoken about country music being some influential part of her life. I've never heard her mention influential country artists etc. I'm not gonna have this convo with you tho because.....yea :dead:
but yea, had they not said dog or THEY then I would completely understand this
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

ok but besides being from Texas, she's country. You're telling me she's not country?
You're not having the convo because you don't have a leg to stand on. Just because she hasn't publicly stated that country music is ingrained in her doesn't mean that on her downtime it isn't something she listens to and enjoys.

PLUS LaTavia commented and said YES THEY did grow up with country music being taught to them so there's THAT
