Sony's Uncharted movie has gone through quite a few directors since it was first announced in 2009, and now it has its latest. Shawn Levy, who directed a couple episodes of Stranger Things, is on board to helm the upcoming Uncharted movie, which Deadline reports is being fast-tracked.

Joe Carnahan--who's directing the upcoming Bad Boys sequel, Bad Boys For Life--wrote the script's most recent draft, while Charles Roven (The Dark Knight), Avi Arad (Iron Man), and Alex Gartner (Warcraft) are on to produce. Carnahan has written for movies such as The A-Team, Smokin' Aces, and The Grey. No other information has been revealed about the movie, including the cast, but we'll keep you updated as more is announced.

Levy helmed the upcoming Arrival, which stars Amy Adams (Man of Steel) and Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), and is set to direct more episodes of Stranger Things for its second season. His past work includes directorial duties on Real Steel, Night at the Museum, and the 2006 remake of The Pink Panther.

As for who plays the beloved protagonist, Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North said in 2015 that fans don't want a movie, "no matter who's the star of it." The production has seen many different casts and directors and filming was supposed to start in 2015. However, that didn't happen, and later that year, details about the Uncharted film were revealed as part of Sony's infamous email leak.
