This isn't really rare among mixed black/mixed-race Hispanics.
Not here in NYC at least.

Separating themselves far away from Blackness as possible.
And typically these types are very colorist/racist. Never fails.

They will be the first to make colorist/racist statements against Blacks. Internalized racism and self hatred.

Many are purely delusional and see themselves as exoticals or something. Totally unaware of what the world sees when they walk out of the house - which is why they usually spend so much time explaining that they are "not Black". People constantly remind them that they are, and it offends them.

That's why I am never quick to claim any of them as Black unless that's how they personally identify (Afro-whatever).

If you don't wanna be associated with Blackness I damn sure ain't twisting your arm.
