That's because he did a fade. Why not just cut yours evenly low all around and just line it up. That's more simple.

Yeah I've made my friend do my hair. My barbers are all gone. I need to learn too

Yea you will need a guard to even your hair out.

Yea just pick the one you want the length of your hair to be. I recommend a 1 guard open. Open means to adjust the lever on the clipper so the guard extends all the way out. If you have long hair you're trying to keep, I don't know what to tell ya.
