Quote from: The definition on February 23, 2023, 11:52:51 AMShe still chases former success, before she released B7, she said she approached the album with the attitude that it could be her last, like a do or die moment in her career

That doesn't sound like chasing to me, sounds more like a personal crossroads, does she care for it anymore really? B7 wouldn't have been left field with an unknown producer if she approached it with the intent to recapture 90s success

NEW MOON

I don't think Brandy is chasing her glory days but I feel like she's still moving as if she's a mainstream artist and not a indie or niche one. If that makes sense.

She's just old school and used to doing things in the way she was brought up in the business. I hope she realizes that she doesn't have to. It's obvious she doesn't enjoy making music videos, promoting, interviewing or doing long tour stretches. She should craft a lane for herself on how she wants to release music without not releasing at all.

It doesn't have to be so rigid.

If his songs on Two Eleven are anything to go by it would be a bunch of dry midtempos.

Sounds like she did the right thing. Nine Eleven was already enough.

FRANCE

I mean, how was she even going to release the music anyways? Of course she was gonna choose The Game, something that would actually make her money. She made the right choice. Her only choice, really.

I know she didn't want to do a 360 deal with epic/chameleon, but she honestly should have just taken it. Put out 4-5 EP's with 3-5 songs each to fulfill her contract and then move on. Would have been a good work around, imo.

I disagree because they wanted more than a 360. Ryan and Breyon wanted her publishing too and wanted the 360 to cover earnings before she even met them. During the lawsuit Sonya was posting on Twitter about all that they wanted. Ray J and Sonya said since she left Atlantic labels have been trying to get her into a 360 because they see she makes a lot of money outside of music, so they were never going to let her sign one.

Oh, I didn't know that. I understand better now as to why she didn't sign.
