Sam Smith will score his first #1 album as his sophomore release, The Thrill of It All, is projected to debut on top of our SPS and album charts next Friday. Based on early reads, here's where Sam and a few other key debuts seem to be headed.

Maroon 5 (222/Interscope) 95-115k, 80-85k
Kelsea Ballerini (Black River) 33-38k, 29-32k
Grace VanderWaal (Columbia) 21-26

Look for projections for Blake Shelton and Kid Rock at the top of the week.

Nah, I was sure he'd break 100k but ur right,  this is pretty good.  Also, Sam is like Adele. He's one of those artists that sells throughout the yr so he doesn't need all his sales to be in the first week. I'm not even getting it until maybe next week. Between these Lalah Hathaway concert tkts and paying for my family to see thor, Sam gotta kinda wait. Gonna download the album and see what's what tho lolz

Nobody?s ranting and raving about and his streaming numbers are a joke.

So sad to see him go out like this.

Its good but he has no Stay With Me, Latch or Not The Only One on the album so it wont have much staying power imo like Ed Sheeran's album did.

He turned people off by being too gay. He should have dropped his single and album the same day.
