She def made her mark and slayed. I dont think anyone is saying that she slayed because of her DC success, but it was definitely a launching board. Its not like a Mariah or even a Ciara who just came out the gate slayin unknown to the world. A lot of those other artists had lower 1st week sales and kept building up their fanbase as time rolled on. Beyonce came out selling, what, 400k first week? Its a bit of a difference. But Nicole couldnt do it and Bey did. Classic era and album. After DIL, her icon status was imminent. She just has it.
