Well.......
Love All Night tho
A part of me feels like if she won AOTY, her fans wouldn't care about any other black person having a chance of winning ever again.
Can't talk about inclusion when they've been playing the exclusion card all along
So because she or any other Black person has achieved success, people don't have a right to call institutions out? The same institutions that have historically overlooked Black artists for some of their highest accolades?

I get what you're saying, but the Gram's have been over looking other Black artists for years to award this bitch. I just find it funny her fans all of a sudden wanna have a Black Panther march when it happens to her. It's laughable.

I get that too, im not really a fan of the hive either. Yet and still, her fans and observers still raise a valid point. I think people are negating that because of their dislike of Bey or the hive.
I don't even think the protests and outrage would be happening if this happened to another black artist.
I damn sure know the Hive wouldn't be crying and ready to march the streets if Rihanna lost AOTY.

You might not have liked the material on 'Lemonade', but its impact and delivery (visual, the HBO premiere, context, ect.) has never been done by any other artists especially WHITE.

I'm actually still feeling a way about 'ANTI' getting paid & it was Rih's best body of work.

it was cool, but nah, Rated R, Un and even GGGB are above it for me
it's just ALOT to take in sonically, she can def focus it to a more cohesive sound like one of the above alberms
It's her most mature work to me. I enjoyed the vibe of 'ANTI'. 'Rated R' by far is her most cohesive and sonically masterful.
what impact? crazy!
y'all have to understand that Bey is incredibly powerful so for her to create an entire body of work centred on blackness and black feminism, it's incredibly impactful. The black and brown ger's were moved by it because Beyonce sang about them and their experiences and that was incredibly smart and important for Bey to tackle especially with this social political climate we're living in.
Where is this black empowerment on "lemonade" ya'll speak about?
Besides hot sauce and Jackson 5 nostrils?

Tbh, neither album was that fckin great.
And the gorls wouldn't be in this much of a tizzy if it had been any other black artist other than Bey so it's hard to take their outrage seriously.
If Bey delivered a regular lazy mess like other black and white gorls I'd be like whatevz

But sis really bends over backwards, reinvents the wheel anew every single time. Plus she sings like a goddess, dances downE, looks gorgeous and she is light skin too and STILL shit ain't enough to beat mediocre women like Adele or Taylor. I said it before. But if Beyonc? and her impeccable work ethic can't break the glass ceiling who else would?
I will say I enjoyed 'Lemonade' the visual more so than the actual record. I just acknowledge that it's entire release and concept was incredibly smart.
I enjoyed other albums more than 'Lemonade' last year though.
Formation alone speaks more to the black struggle than anything any other singin bitch has done, lest we forget. So what if the entire album isn't filled with slave hymns, what have your faves done?
this is why im alway supportin' BET

I don't have a problem with Mya or Rih losing, they only put in half as much thought and dedication. It's really about the amount of talent/dedication in relation to the appreciation.

anywho, it's interesting is all I'm saying lolz
I have to say tho
Forget the Grammy
Let's look at them as artists
The black womah has to be twice as good to even compete
And the Grams proved it
Bey slayed the Grams. Some say it was one of the best televised performances ever
And then you have a Adele who can't even finish a song because she can't hit the notes
But Adele wins
Bey doesn't really need pity tbh she's 20 years in and still winning
It's the other black girls that should be worried

And it doesnt erase simply because shes able to buffer alot of it
2) the album was good one of her best from an artistic point of view and adelles was not better and she knows this as well
3) establishments that are fuming that bey has overcame alot of these hurdles still enjoy taking jabs at her via these avenues which is why shes distanced herself from the machine altogether and is pretty much operating as an independent artist

The gesture was nice but Fas doesn't need her patronizing. It's almost like she felt obligated to soothe the little black girls wound. Made me cringe a bit especially when she started talking about her black friends.
She did it with the greatest intention but it's a prime example of white guilt. That was Adeles moment that she worked hard for, and she had to spend it making sure she said the right thing to avoid a lashing from black twitter. It's late and unfair to both fas and Adele.

U know what talkin about fume, I'm still livid Jazmine didn't win not 1 Grammy she was nominated for in '09... now THAT was some BS
Well, the thing that I personally think that a lot of people don't understand is that Adele is a Beyonce stan and adores her. Her speech was genuine and straight from the heart. Watch her interview with the press after the Grammys. She kept praising her and kept stating that she deserved that award and even said "What the fuck does she have to do to get Album of the Year"? Adele was pissed about the whole thing.

This is sad
The Hive really has y'all shook
not overlooking the truth that the Grammys keep all Black ppl in the Urban categories because y'all faves lost to her. How bitter and crabs in a barrel-ish
No one is painting Bey as a "victim" either
of course she's great and probably ecstatic about her 2 awards
however the fact that as the most popular Black artist out
and she still can't win after 3 nods
while Taylor and Adele have 2 each pretty much sends the message loud and clear
not to mention Drake had like the biggest selling album of 2016 and lost to Adele too
and last time Bey lost to Beck who is no ones superstar
The committee will do anything to skip us negros in the general field

Gorl that album didn't have no impact. I appreciate what she did in that Super Bowl performance, but to act like this bitch just gave an Angela Davis mess over a trap beat is about as farfetched as Ci getting a top 10 on the Hot 100.

is he a superstar because that's what Ray said :nowgorl:
Yes bby he is. I know that you're a Bey stan but I consider you to be a friend. We can just agree to disagree.
Beyonc? should start singing again. Remember when she made actual songs? With melodies? And hooks? Now, she just makes cheerleader chants over beats.
I haven't heard either album, but I'm glad Adele won. Maybe it will make Beyonc? go back in the studio and sing. She fell off after 4 musically, now hiding behind visuals.
I don't think it has anything to do with people wanting to pull the race card it is what it is. Lemonade far from being a bad album. Way FAR that's why not only her fans are shocked but everyone who had a listen was shocked. Let's not down play it she won Two Grammys which is amazing. The fact of the matter is that there have ever only been 2 black artist to win album of the year is really sad.
