Anyways, to answer the OP, no. Mariah doesn't really get the respect she deserves. The fact that she only has 5 Grammys from 2 albums throughout her 29 year career is criminal.

She's done a lot for the industry. One of the best songwriters of all time and she started/popularized the idea of pop artists working with urban artists/urban sounds.

However, I definitely think it's changing. She's been getting a lot more respect within these past 5 or so years. Caution is Queen's highest reviewed album in well over a decade.
