I never saw an issue with white people wearing braids.
A Jewish woman @ my job had her hair in a braid today. And she wasn't trying to be Tonequa.
I think dreds are what more specific to us because we have hair that much more easily lends itself to that styling.
It's culture appropriation. And I don't think blacks had a problem u til the fashion magazines tried to pass it off as this "new innovative" style.
The whole white people rocking braids/dreads thing is a non issue for me :dead: They look goofy as hell most of the time, but I'm not ranting and raving about cultural appropriation (a term people love to misuse) when I see some white guy on the train wearing locs.

!!!!!! I just don't care. It's not my business to berate someone for how they wear their hair. It's their hair not mine. I'm only worrying about my head.

Now if the hair is coupled with someone trying to give their best Daquan impression then I'm a bit offended.

It doesn't bother me at all. Rock your tresses however you see fit. I do have a problem when they try to re-brand the styles as some White mess. Like when they tried to call Kim K's cornrows Dutch braids. Feel free to wear the styles, but acknowledge them as what they are.

I honestly don't even take cultural appropriation claims serious anymore.
People have ran it to the ground and search for any damns thing to call out.
