Honestly speaking, I feel this is Brandy's "make or break" album for her personally.
Like, if this album doesn't give her what she wants then I feel like she's gonna explore other avenues and kinda put music on the back burner for a while.
That's just the feeling I get from how things have been lately, especially if Zoe Moon ends up being a hit.

She has had a wonderful music career. Not many will ever see the success she had during her run. She's forever in Billboard's history with The Boy Is Mine. It gets no better than that. Countless awards and accolades. What more can 1 ask for ?

It's not about the general public knowing, but usually after signing/announcing the record label it will MONTHS till stuff actually happens, which means if her album comes March, the label woulda BEEN known.
I can't see the album coinciding with the sitcom, it is just unrealistic.

She doesn't necessarily have to be on E1. She can start her own label, do a joint venture partnership with a major. With her credentials and resume I'm sure she can land a joint venture deal. Just being signed to a major isn't where it at anymore. You gotta be more than just an artist when doing music. I think she should give it a try.

She had the choice to do it in 2008, in 2012 or even now... If Brandy wanted to release some music independently she would... I mean she heard that ColdPlay song on the radio, punched to the studio, recorded it and posted it.
The fact that Jeff is managing her means more to me... If she was really done with music I dont think she would work with him.

I'm always anxious about new music from Brandy, but this time around I was a lot more patient until the EP got announced. That's when the excitement started. When that didn't manifest it sent me into fumes because it got me into new music mode for no reason.

The approach has been so uninspiring the past 7 years. If she didn't have the talent that she has vocally,it'd be like why even bother. No consistency, no full belief behind the material or the approach. It's like the same song and dance (literally and figuratively) each "era." I honestly think I'm throwing in the towel as a fan if this next era isnt a change of course and approach. If you're an artist and you take such long breaks, you have to actually come with your "A" game sonically and visually when you finally release something.

Maybe she really needs to have that solid foundation and inspiration...maybe once that EP was recorded....she changed her mind cuz it just wasn't a message there. She really needs to eliminate all outside influences, don't even THINK of trying to keep up with who and what's out there...lock herself in somewhere, be REAL with herself regarding her life experiences...put the whole sunny and bright, random inspirational message mess to the side JUST for a bit so she can tap into that vulnerable place and pull out something amazing. I know Brandy is a vet in this business. My expectations for her are simply to do better than her peers. She has done that and more so Im proud.
There was a time where I felt being a fan would come to an end because I saw she had difficulty keeping up with the changes in music. She has settled that fear of mine not once but 3x's.
I love Brandy as a full package. I get super excited about music but my real joy just comes from seeing her working because I know it could be very different.
Shes respected by her genre and as the years go on her legend status is being further solidified.
I dont expect a Beyonce release. I don't expect Rhiannas wardrobe. I do expect Brandy to be that bubbly girl next door w/ the wide smile and bright eyes. Thats the Brandy I feel for and as soon as that Zoe commercial came on thats who I saw.
I do wish she communicated more. Not for me but for you all bcuz I see that connection means alot to you all.

I hate that Brandy has been making me question who I really have been stanning for through the years. Obviously that voice which belongs to her, but she doesn't really deserve all the credit for most of what I've loved. I suppose I used to stan for her A&R, Executive Producers, Publicist, Manager, Art Director, Stylist, Video Directors etc... It's so apparent that her team sucks and has sucked for awhile. Without the Atlantic machine she seems rather lackluster as an artist. There haven't been any sightings of the BRANDY brand since 2004. (It started to diminish with the Ultima endorsement.) She is an amazing talent that has been resting on her laurels. The general public doesn't know how to appreciate talent unless it's properly presented. (See Keke Wyatt vs Beyonce) The overall package is not up to par and she is well aware of that. Sadly she hasn't done anything to change it.

If all of what you said is true, you have a very small group of artist to stan for. Like... What artist controls their music, visuals, styling, management? Its unrealistic! You think Adele is in Chanel picking her wardrobe and editing her own videos? Every artist has a team.
Some expectations are just ridiculous at this point. She been in the game 20+, her brand is doing damn well. Shes still being sought out by the young artist to collab. Shes always acting. She just left broadway. Shes performed at award show. She still presents too. Who else from her time is doing it?

Honestly, especially after seeing Brandy live on Broadway and hearing the favorable comments from the young and older audiences in the crowd, I think Brandy focusing on ACTING will only extend her career and give it an ever-lasting effect. It crosses all formats (demographics) on Broadway. I was in awe by the raves I was hearing behind me, next to me, etc.
I wouldn't mind Brandy really challenging herself in roles and really dominating acting in her 40s.
I know she has the voice for a lifetime of singing. And she will release her albums whenever she feels likes it - and the response will be based upon her team.
But acting is what is going to keep this woman around for decades.
Some people do tours (Tina Turner, Beyonce, etc).
For Bran, it'll be acting.
