Do you think Michael Jackson's change of skintone helped him become more "accepting"/"popular" or sell records to "white audience"?

First off, this is no shade to Michael Jackson or his skin change. I'm actually a big fan of him. This is just a conversation I had with my cousin awhile ago. I was like "When are we gonna get another Michael Jackson?" And then started joking about maybe the reason we don't have a new Michael Jackson is because of skin tone staying the same with most people.

I love Michael Jackson, R.I.P.

This is just something I thought would be great to discuss because there is a LITTLE truth to it if you think about it.

BUT, MJ was the best to ever do it. This Superbowl Halftime performance >>>>>>

What do you guys think? Did his skintone-change help?
Did the "White" MJ dominate MORE than the brown skinned MJ?

Let's discuss!

Herb.

He was a beautiful dark skinned man when he released his biggest record
And the biggest record in history.

So I'd say no. I think that a combination of his insecurities and the endless amount of money he made off of the record led to his journeys under the knife

Herb.

His skin was of a dark hue. This is dark skin.
I don't believe in capuccinos, medium rare and mess.

charlie.

I agree Ken.

I was thinking the same.
"Thriller" was huge and that's when he was brown skin
:ohwow: & that was an EPIC era

Miranda

Yes he elevated himself into a creature beyond race, gender or age. He became a deity, superhuman. The look helped.

GLOCK

but if u dont believe in different hues.. then how can u say he was dark skin..
wouldnt he just be.. "BLACK"
