I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm getting older...but it's becoming increasingly important for me to learn more about the origins of my family. I called my grandmother yesterday and had a conversation with her about it. I'll keep the details to myself (I know it would just be followed with kii's
) , but I will say that I feel more educated. When someone asks a question, I can give an accurate response. Instead of saying "I think.." -- which sounds so ignorant. And for some reason I feel like I know a little more about who I am as an individual.
The heritage on my father's side of the family is simple but my mother's side is a bit more complex and I'm getting more and more curious.
This is my grandmother's grandmother.
She looked like such a serious woman.
My grandmother told me so many things about her -- and her father -- yesterday.
For some odd reason I wish I could have met her. it's amazing because I can see my sisters when I look at her.
Am I the only one seeing more and more importance of discovering your heritage?
