Exclusive: ?Married to Medicine? Returning for Season 4, Cast Facing the Chopping Block
Married to Medicine is returning for season 4 but most likely with a different cast, TV Deets can exclusively reveal.
It?s been a few months since season 3 of the show wrapped and up until recently, there had been no concrete news as to whether or not the show starring Heavenly Kimes, Jackie Walters, Lisa Nicole Cloud, Quad Webb-Lunceford, Simone Whitmore, and Toya Bush-Harris would be renewed by Bravo. TV Deets can exclusively report that the show is coming back for another season and producers are currently in pre-production on season 4.
According to a source close to production, Bravo is ?in love? with doctors Jackie and Simone, so you can expect to see them back for season 4. But as it stands, the show is going through a bit of an overhaul with Heavenly, Lisa, Quad, and Toya all on the chopping block.
?They want the show to continue to be successful but feel like the current cast can?t deliver on that,? a source tells us exclusively. ?Last season the issue with Lisa and Quad dragged out and the worst part was that viewers weren?t really interested.?
The insider adds that while each of the women certainly have their fanbase, Bravo is more likely to build the cast around the existing doctors as opposed to the doctor?s wives. ?Jackie and Simone are hilarious,? our source explains, adding that the show wants to focus more on their interactions at work.
In order to stir up interest in the show, producers are willing to fire most of the Married to Medicine cast and seemingly start from scratch. Heavenly ?didn?t even want to film? with the women last season, the source points out.
Mariah Huq is credited as a producer on the show and while our source can?t confirm Mariah?s return is definite, they can reveal that Mariah has been in contact with producers and a new contract with the show is certainly ?on the table?
If Mariah does return, expect her to patch things up with Quad and take on some of the show?s new cast members. The show?s Houston-set spinoff, Married to Medicine Houston, is rumoured to be premiering in a few months and will feature an entirely different cast.
