This was a great interview. I was hoping to a re-released 20th anniversary edition of Full Moon. :ohwow:
Trying not to get my hopes up for the Mariah collab cause Mariah's voice is not in good shape judging by the new xmas special. :-(
Yeah me either, something feels eeh.....like it might be some falalalala round the house type of thing. Like its not actually for an album. I'm sure its proab the Roof remake with some backgrounds which I will still live for

Yes, this was a nice read. Loved what she said about following her gut and I believe her. I'm excited to hear what she cooked up with Mariah though.  I admire how loyal she's been to her favorite artists,  Mariah and Whitney have always been her top 2.
Ehh but we still got BabyMama, High Heels, No Tomorrow Pt. 2, only 2 singles etc.
It wasn't a perfect era but it was a fruitful and creative one musically IMO, fumbles that u mentioned and all. Following her gut and putting an album out with songs like lucid dreams, Borderline, Rather be, Unconditional, Say Something, No tomorrow (Part 2 ain't on the album thank God) and Love Again, etc. and Immediately following her gut and doing Verzuz >>>>

I can't imagine where she'd be right now if she chose to scrap it and nothing happened afterwards. This board would have tore Queen to shreds

:plzstop:
LMAO you always try to make my realistic ass look at the positive. Let me praise MUVA. The album def has its GLORY, it just isn't polished. Now if she had taken out Baby Mama, High Heels, even I AM MORE (I like it but it sounds cheap, esp for an album) and gave us one interlude combined w/ a great vocal mix then we have a winner. Follow the next year with an EP of songs that didn't make the album.....now I'm fed.

dddssd I get what ur saying, especially when we're used to a certain polished sound. It's funny cuz the main engineer is the same one she used for TwoEleven which tells me she was more intentional about b7 feeling and sounding like the semi indie project that it is. I definitely frowned when on first listen when i heard a couple songs but now it's honest to God a top 3 Brandy album for me, still heavy in my rotation in general.

LOOK at her

:flamebroiled:
She's literally glowing, she has been a glowing light during these last two years of the dark cloud of the pandemic

Fucking iconic  :plzstop:

QuoteI remember just being in Miami, working at the Hit Factory with LaShawn Daniels and Rodney Jerkins. Full Moon was happening on one side. Invincible was happening on the other side. Michael Jackson was in the other studio. I'm in one studio.

Rodney's coming back telling me all of the secrets that I need to do that Michael Jackson is doing. "You need to do this with your stacks. You need to do this kind of harmony this way. This is the Michael Jackson way. If you want to be the greatest, then you better do this."

To get Michael's codes, like what he would do with his backgrounds, how he would stack his backgrounds, and just to get that kind of information from the greatest.

The fact you can hear the influence on It's Not Worth It and Come A Little Bit Closer was evident....the first one I mentioned was my fave on the album and I wanted it to be a single so bad
