Ashley is envious of Candiace.

Ashley had to go to great lengths to marry an old, scabby white man just to get the lifestyle she desires. Michael is a huge part in determining Ashley's future. 

Candiace was born into wealth. Chris could leave tomorrow and she'd be alright.

Ashley was demeanor toward Candiace changed after She was invited into Candiace's new home, while Ashley is struggling to get the house she wants without Michaels money.

Yea, now if they said Ashley is keeping score THAT I get. And rightfully so seeing as how Candiace mentions "Michael", unprovoked, on camera more than his own wife does. Yea ho, you betta not have any marital issues while I'm still a castmate on the show. As much shit as she's talked.
