Even though it's only Melody and Carmit doing a few background vocals, it feels more like a GIRL GROUP song, if you compare it to later songs which were scrapped Nicole solo songs. And sounded like it.
Buttons gives off a "there's other women singing on this" vibe :rthosehotwings:

1:42 Nicole and Carmit going back and forth in the bridge
4:48 is Nicole trying to rap the chorus? :dead: Loosen up mah buttons babes!! :fuming:

The Nicole only demo version sounds so uneventful :omf:

Ron Fair was the vocal producer on this album. He got Xtine and Keyshia together. He knows how to work with vocals.

something was clearly done to the demo version

its slowed down/super processed in some way

ASS ALL OVER THE PLACE AS MELODY VOCALS CAN BE WITH THE RIGHT VOCAL PRODUCTION
THIS SONG WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER FIT FOR HER. SHE WOULD HAVE GIVEN VERY MUCH XTINA AGUILERA VIBES.

OVER ALL THIS IS SUCH A GREAT SONG! :flamebroiled:

No, that's how the demo sounded. They performed the first version on Carson Daly

I actually appreciate Nicole for coming up with that chanting voice at the beginning. That's her. At first I thought it was a sample.

But yes, Melody maybe singing the second verse would have made the song a little more interesting.
