Lord knows I have said it and heard it many times
but it says a lot that she's saying this while clearly seeing herself as different

the closest Puerto Rican rapper to her in reality is Angie Martinez

Because honestly, if she chose Beyonce, I am fairly certain this argument would still be happening.  Because Beyonce gets accused of the same colorism mess, because she "doesn't look black".

Which leads me back to my point.  This uproar only happens when light skin women drag.  And it's just as colorist as what they're being accused of.

Everything you have said in this thread is 100% baseless, and because you've shared your own experience calling black people "nappy headed", it now makes it hypocritical.  Funny how you can  freely use certain things as insults, but when Joseline does it, it's because "she sees herself as more attractive than Non Hispanic Black people". It's not always about someone's skin tone - receipts of Cardi B calling someone a "burnt roach" surfaced and I was like, "oh, girls in the Bronx say dumb mess like that all the time." I didn't even bother. Just because she is of a lighter complexion doesn't mean she's automatically colorist or racist.

But I remember there being a couple of people who were like wait Including whoever made the thread.

It's all about how it is interpreted and how much you know about the person. I know how girls get down in the Bronx so I can easily give Cardi a pass.

And many times, people use geographic locations to describe their ETHNIC heritage or BLOODline. Like, someone saying "I am mixed with Panamanian". Technically - it's wrong because Panama has many races of people, so saying that you're mixed with Panamanian isn't saying you're mixed with another race of people. But we all know people still use it in that context.

So, it's perfectly logical for anyone to assume that someone consistently claiming that they're Puerto Rican may actually be referring to their bloodline as opposed to where they were actually born. Or, a combination of both.

I think this is a fair assessment.  I really wanted to dig in your wig, because I love a good debate.  But something  you said in the other thread really stuck with me.  And I couldn't argue it.  I do think Joseline sees herself as black, but I do think she also likes to flex her privilege at times for the kiki.

My only issue is Ray's argument has turned very hypocritical and assumptive.

She isn't using the Puerto Rican thing like your Panama example. Jason Lee explicitly asked her if she was mixed PR with black and Joseline said no she is BLACK and she is 100% PUERTO Rican.
