QuoteRecent comments from Warner Music Group CEO Stephen Cooper all-but-confirm those lingering suspicions.  ?In the past it was about radio play, weekly charts and sales ? now it?s a minute-by-minute battle for people?s time and attention,? Cooper told Billboard in an interview this week.

?So playlisting is one of the big reasons why artists need record labels today.?

Strangely, it was Billboard itself that exposed the racket a few months ago, with information about inside operators, pay-for-play price tags, and other dirty aspects of modern-day payola.  ?Spots on many of the largest Spotify playlists are already controlled by the three major music companies, which each own a branded property that curates playlists of many styles and genres,? asserted Billboard journalist Glenn Peoples in a piece sharply critical of the practice and its major label controllers.

Peoples even cited sources inside the major labels to affirm that payola ? for playlists ? definitely exists. ?Pay for play ?is definitely ?happening,? claims a major label marketing executive, one of several who say that popular playlists can and have been bought,? People wrote.

Welcome to ?playlist payola,? the modern-day equivalent to old school payoffs of radio station deejays.  And just like the old days, there are specific prices for spins.  Peoples cited a source stating ?$2,000 for a playlist with tens of thousands of fans,? up to to ?$10,000 for the more well-followed playlists?.

This would apply to Nicki more than Cardi :dead:
it's unrealistic to think Atlantic has the money to spend on multiple Cardi tracks occupying multiple top positions  across multiple music streaming services for THIS long.

Someone like Nicki, whose label buys tops spots which only last a couple of days then falls because she doesn't have the fanbase or hype to help her STAY there.
Is that why her new mess is cascading down Ichunes?
yh coz it sucks

her desperate ploy for attention. she rushed to release these damn songs like they were bonified HITS!
bitch leave the battle rapping to Remy!
!!
she really thought she was releasing something groundbreaking
I'm screaming at her rushing to release these mediocre songs to disrupt Cardi's shine, only for it to backfire and make her look the like bitter and self centred bitch she really is :heyddy:
That's what had me hollering!
new nicki. SURPRISE!
GIRL!
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I hope Lil Kim and Cardi Bs collaboration is real and I HOPE that shit is pure and utter FIRE! If that shit drops and Krim goes into the top 20 of the hot 100 and get hit.

Put Sicki on suicide watch!

FlowerBomb

for everytime afro says bye! and returns with back to back posts Nicki gets lower and lower on itunes
:scrumptious:

#Mu7

and tbh what really is killing nicki was she valued herself on her chart success because that was the one thing she had over the others before her and now that Bardi is lashing her. She is PRESSED.

she has NOTHING left not a CLASSIC album to her name. NO CRITICAL ACCLAIM. NO GRAMMY. NO #1 SONG on the HOT 100. Literally NOTHING.

bitch even most "flops" have that!

Glock when did I say Cardi is using her own money?  :dead: I specifically used that article to prove that Atlantic/Warner are using payola to put her songs at the top of damn near every Spotify/Apple Music playlist.

You're clearly just trying to ignore the facts.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Post proof that bardis mess is being ?yola?d hun

U ok?

Sad to see u girls not be able to make sense of all these HITS because ur girl can?t sell more than 40k on a dual single mess

Aww

.betterwiseup

These bitter Barbz creating rumors because Cardi is winning and Nicki isn?t.
Atlantic this, Atlantic That!

And what does Nicki's iTunes positions have to do with streaming payola?

:diddraispoot:

Unless you want to insinuate that Nicki going #1 on iTunes is fueled by payola. And if you're gonna insinuate that, I'm gonna need to see some receipts.

Still waiting on an answer, Jayden.
