The National Guard was deployed in Minneapolis as hundreds of people looted and rioted into the early hours Monday after a black man was shot dead by police just 10 miles from where George Floyd died.
The fatal shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center came as the Twin Cities was already in a state of high alert over the trial of ex-cop Derek Chauvin charged with Floyd's murder last May.

The police have PROCEDURES to follow though. They have his plates. They can use that to find where he lives. There was no need to fire indiscriminately into the vehicle, killing him and injuring the female he was with. I agree, he shouldn't have fled. But for whatever reason, he did. The police still used excessive force.
If someone is fleeing from you, they aren't a threat to your life.

I know it's a way to measure if a cop is actually "doing their job" but it's creating situations where young black men are having relatively unnecessary interactions with police officers in a time where racial tension is super high.
