I did Manhattan for a few.  I don't like it in general, living wise.
Then Long Island City. 

I considered North Bergen, NJ.
Or Hoboken.

The problem is, other places want to charge $1800+ for some roach infested, paint peeling mess. No, ma'am.

You feel forced to pay more just to get something CLEAN, renovated or new.
