idk Herb but it's been really hard to trust white people as of lately.
I don't know how yall do it.
Don't walk in fear, just be cautious. There is a difference.
No need to change your life around, or avoid white people.
I'm just very careful of what kind of conversations I have with people.
And am very aware of my surroundings in the workplace even if I am conversing with someone with the same color as me.
At the end of the day, I don't need anyone labeling me as an "activist".
I do my dirty work under the table.
Was telling all my black coworkers about discovering my African roots. They were so excited and inspired.
I know it sounds weird, but it feels like with each conversation I have, I am helping undoing some of the wrong that has been put onto us.
I feel so good for some reason when I see them smile with a sparkle in their eye.
You're wise not to be too trusting. And trust, you even gotta watch some of your own as well. But that's a whole other story.
