It was never about genres. Bruno just literally cosplays as Babyface, Charlie Wilson, James Brown or whatever 60s-70s musician he feels like since Uptown Funk blew up. It never sounds like a regular R&B song

16 Carriages sounds more authentic.

Ok K., I love this.

Bey should get her and Mons on an album track.
although this sounds a mess I would respect her because it seems like K and Mo are struggling to get their country songs out

huh :plzstop:
If that's the case usher cosplays as bobby brown, Chris brown cosplays Michael,  so on and so forth. It's about someone non black being influenced by artists and genres and you only choose to speak on that when it's someone non black. You're being hypocritical asf :dead:
Beyonce ain't no damn country girl that all of a sudden  loves country music. She should be allowed to do whatever music she wants because I believe that musicians should express themselves how they see fit but u just keep this energy when it's not someone u like because it's quite contradictory,  sir
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Quote from: RAY7 on February 12, 2024, 10:27:12 AMMeanwhile Whitney is from the hood of New Jersey and no one batted an eye when she was singing a Dolly Parton song and fucking a white man in The Bodyguard
they kinda did shade Whitney a bit for being too whitewashed

That BET awards ceremony where they booed her , etc

Kwee was just doing her job but the gorls wanted grease

yea that was when she was doing Pop music like I Wanna Dance
but when she did I Will Always Love You which is literally a cover of a White woman's country song, EVERYBODY embraced it even though she doesn't even have any connection to country
But a girl who was raised in Texas where there's confederate flags, horses and ranches everywhere is disingenuous for doing music that is popular in her hometown?
boy

Whitney was never flat out doing country music with a cowgirl hat on

Even doing pop ballad songs will resonate with a lot of black folks cuz it's very safe

Yes she remade a song by a country artist and made it her own but she was never cosplaying a country artist

Don't play wit me

first of all, point me directly to the Usher song and the Bobby Brown song because he's influenced by him as a performer but their songs sound nothing alike.
Bruno and Mark Ronson literally had to give Charlie Wilson AND Trinidad James writing credit for Uptown Funk
and Bey has always liked country music it's in her DNA since she grew up in a place where country is popular. She just never sang it herself until now that she has the freedom to do other genres with no label or anyone trying to stop her

Help me with this, is it on the country ITunes chart because "country is playing it", or because her strong fan base is streaming and it's labeled as Country?
