I don't think people have forgotten that brandy has hits,  that's crazy.  Imma just be real,  Monica's songs have performed better AND this is her crowd.  Monica had that urban crowd on lock.  She's targeted her songs there and has that audience's ear.  Brandy hasn't done that.  Music lovers love brandy but the general R&B audience fucks more with Monica

Yup and that's why it's a fair fight.

Monica has more hit singles after 2000 but Brandy sold more records overall and has more classic albums so her deep cuts alone stands up against Monica's singles. Angel in Disguise can go against any Monica single. Even Brandy's less popular singles like ADC are hard to go up against. Monica doesn't have any album cuts on Brandy's level.

It peaked quickly but dropped off the chart quickly too. That's why it's so low on the end of year chart.

You do know that peaking at #65 on the year-end does not mean the song flopped, right? They are based on an inverted system. You get "points" for how long you stay on the chart -- not necessarily how much was sold or radio impressions you had.

So essentially, you can peak at #1 for one week, selling 3 million... and then drop to #50 the following week. In the year-end, you'd chart low.

But a song that sold 1 million in total, but stayed on the chart for 20 weeks, could peak higher...

Not necessarily. Brandy sometimes tends to keep it cute when going life and Monica over does it. To the point where a lot of ppl who dont know shit about singing, they'll think that Monica is better because she's louder. U still got folks who still to this day say Monica is a better vocalist and the Verzuz audience is prob gonna be 1 of em. Monica will be flat during the entire thing and still convince ppl she be SANGIN.
