I never heard any rumors about Irv and Ashanti, but I always wondered. I remember Alicia Keys saying how men in the industry were more interested in sleeping with her than singing with her even when she was 13.

When Ashanti told her story about being around a crew of thug dudes as the only lady there.  And she was pretty and her talent was questionable. I had to put 2 and 2 together.
