Jill Scott's time here in the states might be coming to an end soon. She recently appeased on Jemele Hill's podcast and shared her concerns about raising her son in the US. The racial climate has caused her to consider raising her son in a different country.

There is racism all over the world but what I can say is the cops don't kill people like in the USA. We don't have guns so less shootings. Most crime is drug related and we do have some problems with more knives just like the UK. In the bigger cities we are used to different cultures and everyone is pretty welcoming. There are also very good universities and almost everyone, even on the countryside, doesn't mind talking in English. We can ride our bikes to work, there's good public transportation..health care is very cheap compared to other countries. There's also a very good jazz festival and lots of love for artists like Jill Scott..so yeah I could see why she is thinking about it. The only problem is sometimes it rains too much and the cities are not that big so it can get quiet.

The food is hydrated because we are below sea level? I have never heard of that. But the water we drink is very good quality, we can drink it without filtering (at home)..no need to buy plastic bottles.

Yes, the U.S. is different than Germany and people probably die less as a result of racist cops violence, but it's not like people haven't been killed here too for the same reasons. That should not be ignored. It's way better here, or there, can easily be an excuse to ignore the problems here.

I've not seen this a lot myself. The only issues I ever had was from one rude black cop.
I was being sassy with this white cop and this ugly fat black cop decided to climb out the car to check me a bit.

I've been stopped a few times wearing a hoody but here we give the police the bizness and talk back with an attitude with no repurcussions. Something they can't do in the US.
I remember one time being man handled by cops while on a school trip because they mistook us for a gang who had done something in the area. When they realized they were mistaken the apologized profusely and left.
The main problem I see in the UK is with education and jobs. They hit Black people overtly where it hurts the most. There us also a lot of gas lighting.
Again they are more subtle so its easier for them to deny it and make you look crazy.
