GoFundMe has removed an account set up by friends and family of Arlington school shooter Timothy Simpkins where they asked for $25,000 from the public to help him, claiming he is traumatized from his father's death.
A spokesman told DailyMail.com on Friday: 'The fundraiser was removed from the platform because it violated GoFundMe Terms of Service.'
'Less than $150 was raised and all donors have been refunded.'
Simpkins, 18, critically injured 15-year-old Zacchaeus Selby and also wounded 25-year-old teacher Calvin Pettitt - whom he shot in the back - when he opened fire at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday.
Selby remains in the hospital, clinging to life after being shot four times, his family said.
Seconds before the fight, the pair brawled in their classroom. The fight was caught on video. It was eventually broken up by teachers.
Simpkins fled the scene then handed himself in to police. He was released Thursday after a bail bondsman put up at least some of his $75,000 bail.
His family have claimed that he is an innocent victim of bullying who acted in self-defense after being relentlessly picked on, in part because he has 'nice things' like a Dodge Charger and expensive sneakers.
A GoFundMe page was launched Thursday night by Dallas attorney Kim T. Cole, asking the public to give money to help Simpkins.

The page included a lengthy statement from his mother, Katrina, which reads: 'Many of you have seen the video of the brutal beating Timothy Simpkins received. He never even returned a blow. He simply balled up and covered his head trying to protect himself.'
'What you don't know is that Timothy was robbed at gunpoint and stripped of his possessions a couple of weeks ago,' she wrote. 'And the unfortunate backstory is that Timothy's father was brutally beaten to death. This fact definitely heightened Timothy's fear for his life.'
'Not to mention that the young man responsible for beating and harassing him made had recently made threats to kill him so you see, my son was terrified and believed he would be murdered just like his father.'
She said that while she is 'not suggesting taking a gun to school was the right choice', there is 'so much more to the story'.
'My son has gone through a very traumatic experience. He needs counseling and therapy.'
'Please donate what you can to help,' she added.
The page attracted $150 in donations before GoFundMe shut it down for a violation of its polices.
Selby's family launched their own GoFundMe to help pay for his medical bills, which had raised more than $3,000 of its $10,000 goal as of Friday evening. He had been preparing to undergo more surgery on Friday.
Prosecutors have yet to file a case against Simpkins, who partied with his relatives after being released from jail on Thursday night.

I have mixed feelings about this
the mom is saying this all started cuz her son has "nice things" - clothes , etc
i think more public schools should move to having uniforms
ive def seen the difference in classes where all the kids wear the same uniform and ones where they don't.
kids end up spend hours talking about who has the latest sneakers, what clothes they're wearing...how much they cost...
i think school is actually where a lot of us are first introduced to materialism, and elements of classism.
"the haves and the have nots".
especially Black kids. and most times what people are wearing rarely represent what they truly "have", cuz as you can see his mom is asking for 20K - yet her son has all the latest expensive sneakers and a nice car.
so it's all about the appearance of it all....another harmful thing we learn in those environments. how to "stunt" and "floss".

Wasn't nobody donating to that shit. They already put it out there that they got big money. He drove a 2018 silver Dodge Charger in high school, had nice sneakers and jewelry, and has grills in his mouth in the pictures that are circulating. Use your BIG money to get your son help and stop trying to be greedy off the situation.

Uniforms won't really do shit. You'll still see the difference in wealth and class. If Simone always has Indian Virgin lacefronts and all you can afford to do is brush your shit back then that's a difference of wealth. If John pulls out his IPhone and all you can afford is a Family Dollar phone then that's a difference of wealth. If Timothy pulls up to school in a 2018 Dodge Charger and you had to take the metro bus then that's a difference in wealth. OVERALL bullying needs to be addressed. From shaming one's sexual identity to shaming one's intellect or lack-there of to shaming one's physical looks. It really just boils down to general bullying.

once uniforms are introduced, there would just be other ways to floss on hoes.
maybe in earlier days where things like iphones and "weave culture" weren't common that could work more effectively

She really should've at least removed him from the school when the first instances were mentioned and nothing was done. The bullying they were doing to him I've never seen first hand and with social media the way it is for this generation the pressure to fight back has to be enormous.
bullying is something that can be so nuanced and complex that i think it will be hard to really just sit down and tackle it
sounds simple enough but that just may not be realistic
sometimes bullying can even be passive and under the radar - so only the target will feel it but everyone else won't see it.
adults do that too. we just have different names for it. "microaggressions", "nice/nasty", etc.
with something that can be this sneakily executed i think the approach has to be realistic and creative

that's a lot easier said than done and a lot of facts we don't know.
might've been only school on his district OR the only accessible school. they're very strict on districts, women have gone to prison for enrolling their kids in the wrong district using friends or families' addresses.
