Intelligent
I def add in some valley girl with my mess, it's fun
and less threatening to the cops and stuff
Totally agree
I never associated intelligence with "acting white" :rudone:
I've heard this mess all my life :ermm:
There is a "White" way of speaking but it has nothing to do with the words used.

!!!!!
i agree.
there are a lot of people who are hood as fuck when they talk but are super smart.
i think theres def such a thing as "acting white" and i wouldn't say it has much to do with intelligence
if i see shalequa somewhere going awf with "like...omg! like lets go shoppin ! like TOTALLY rad!"
dsfnfsdnfsn of course she sounds white :plzstop: i dont know how smart she is. she just kinda sounds like a white person
but i do think saying someone is "acting like" something is low key accusing them of TRYING to be something they're not.
which i think is unfair. there could simply be a lot of influence in their life that rubbed off on them.
i would def think someone "sounds" white but i wouldn't be quick to say they're "acting"
there are some people who def associate intelligence, "excellence", etc. with whiteness too
so theres still some truth in that lil meme for sure

I feel like this is mostly an American thing because here in Canada, a lot of black men (myself included) and men of other races sound similar. There's not much of a difference.
I grew up in private school around a bunch of white washed black boys. Most of them were dumb af lol.
Their mannerisms, cadences when speaking, slang, way of dressing... were all stereotypical preppy white asshole. Think Carlton from Fresh Prince without the charm nn
It's ignorant but at the same time you can kinda tell when someone has grown up around majority of white people and in white spaces, so...
There's a difference between someone "talking white" vs a person with intelligence.
You can articulate intelligently as a black person without "sounding white". I think to accuse a black person of that just because they are educated is ignorance in itself.
