cccccccccc

he was like the hugest trend of his time

Let these girls make their quick coins just like u did

So they can sit on Twitter years later with some "I miss the 90s 😩" speech like u after they're done banking

Now that I re-read it , it looks like he's actually addressing the desire of momentary popularity vs continued demand/success

He has somewhat of a point if that's the case
Although it's hard for me to imagine anyone just sitting around thinking it's sexy and cute for ur success to end after a short time

He didn't really say anything here. Ofcourse a new artist is going to prioritise being popular rn, the music industry is fickle and there's no guarantee they'll be around a year from now.

Lolz and this what King Ush was talking about when he told T-Pain that he ruined the industry. He popularized Auto-tune heavy vocals, and even though he actually can sing without it he gave everybody a tool to easily make a hit without talent or passion for a long career

No shade but Usher did the exact same thing by jumping on the EDM wave (https://i.ibb.co/hRf0brk/386485-o.gif)

Arguabley worse, T-Pain ddin't have legacy to think about, he was a new artist and popularised a sound...if anything he should be celebrated for doing soemthing differnt. Usher jumped on the EDM wave because it was hot, which is kinda what T-Pain is talking about in the post above.

but he%u2019s talking about longevity which Usher already had and still has regardless
Meanwhile T-Pain was popular from 2006-2010 which he%u2019s complaining about others doing%u2026

Tpain definitely contradicts himself quite a bit from what i've seen  :dead:   he be all over the place. Afro u hit the nail on the head the first time tbh xjcjcdd i don't think he'd have this hot take if he were still on that hot streak all over the charts. Angie Martinez praised his chart success a few days ago in their interview and he immediately said "Yea, but im no Drake."  He couldn't even accept the compliments because he was thinking about who's hot right now.

Many Artists go for popularity when they first start out, and that doesn't negate how serious they take their Artistry. Both things can be true

T-Pain is very insecure about his status in the industry. He was used then SHUNNED by his peers. Jay Z ended him with "Death To Autotune" that shit had to hurt.  :plzstop:

I get what he's saying but the industry has changed.

The gorls are fickle. You have to get to the bag while it's hot.

I think the most realistic answer to longevity in 2022 is branding and product development

Artists branching out of the studio and into TV shows , developing products to promote to their audience etc .

Not just the typical perfume or clothing line mess that was done a million times over by big celebs in the past but really digging the fuck in and going hard to see what innovative useful tea they can bring in that can get them some coin

Basically Using the money they've made to invest it instead of blowing it all on cars and gucci Bags .

Ray j did an amazing job with that. Love or hate him he kinda slayed with that skateboard thingy he had and the headphones etc .
