A lot of them don't even know the term exists.
Which is kinda what I figured but Adrienne  confirmed it with the stats she was reading

Lot of them in NYC call themselves "Spanish" which is technically incorrect if they're not from Spain but it's still used by them and by outsiders too. When someone says "Spanish" you know they're probably referring to a gorl from Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic.

And honestly I still say "Spanish" too depending on who I'm talking to - especially if they're saying it. No sense in being a dickhead tryna be super technical when u know what they mean. Bdbdbdb

The offensive part is imposing a term on a group of people that doesn't fit within their language structure. Especially the Spanish language where everything is gendered. I'm in support of a change, but it would be received better if it came from within.

"LatinX" doesn't even really roll off the tongue that well. Sounds super harsh and almost negative (the "x")
