slay
now give us the ep
naw i'm kidding
lol
so happy for bran
i think finally she's just letting it flow
Nobody can keep me in a corner or hold me back from singing or sharing my music with people that love my voice
This song represents how much my freedom rings and how special my connection is with my following, so I AM willing to risk it all!!!
It's an honest record that's based on one of the trillest stories in my life, with the most raspiest, gut wrenching vocal of my career
ACK!!!

My favorite parts just in case the image can't be seen. I struggled ssssd thanks pons

:butwait!:
You can tell that she's celebrating being an independent artist. No one can tell her she can't release a song when she wants. She's in control. She's calling the shots. Guys, this will probably be out first non 2 single era for the first time in this new millennium.
she should just keep releasing songs until she's in album mode imo.
I want her to stay with Slayana Records. They seem to make Bran priority and give her creative freedom.
I hope she goes with Rayana as the album title. I've been pushing that for years
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See, I knew there was alot of business shit that was keeping her tied up and not producing material
Hmmm...Rayana as an album title. I don't know. All her other album titles had meaning. Human, Two Eleven, Full Moon, Afro. Rayana sounds like some Jackie, Royalty mess. As corny as it sounds, I'd prefer B Rocka. Remind people who was and still is the queen.

I'm so freakin happy for her. Whatever it is, I don't remember seeing this side of her. This is some other shit. No one can predict what will happen for her, but this space she's in >>>>
this post is literally everything

This is truly a great time to be a Brandy fan/stan.
The song, the release, the label. All great. There can only be one Brandy...everything about her tells you that - look, tone, sound....everything. Release what you want, when you want! I'm ready!!!!

My only hope is that the sound is really good. No people walking and talking in the background. Something intimate a la the Robin Ayers interviews.

brandy supporters have always complained about not enough visuals, not enough quality visuals, and not enough singles.
Never radio pushes and blah blah. That's all last on the damn list as far as im concerned
No one listens to the radio like that anymore. Get those streams and purchases. Radio isn't what it used to be. Still carries heavy weight for charting obviously but it ain't what it used to be.
Will it still chart on BB even tho it's 99 cents?
A friend of mine made a great point .. she's pretty much been fighting for certain singles since she forced them to release full moon as the 2nd single :dead:
This freedom is probably fucking EVERYTHING for her right now
Rodney must have been fuming about not getting another single from FM.

Yea, radio is extremely important though, can't downplay that. Not everyone has heard this song and this is the kind of record that people will hear and be like "Damn! Who this? Brandy???!" and download it. It's that good of a record.
But not because an artist is independent means that no airplay. It's harder, but very much possible. Many other artists have done it. She just needs to make her rounds like she did when she was promoting Put It Down. Like Brandy said, she doesn't want just a few to hear her music, she wants many. So radio is important.
If she is going independent, at the end of the day Brandy is a name. She is an established singer and actress. I think she can succeed independently. I think what has stifled her career is the fact that she hasn't been able to fully go as far as she may have wanted when it comes to her art and sound. I think this is a great time for her and will prove to be great for her career. She's like 23 years into her career; she doesn't need to chase Billboard - it's nice but not required. Right now it should be about cementing her legacy.

True. And just making a great album. If she makes music in the vein of Beggin & Pleadin, I see grammy noms next year.

I think she should create her own label with distribution and marketing from a major. The major concerns would be coming up with unique and effective way and opportunities to get the music heard. Radio isn't as important anymore.

And I agree with u when u put it like that, Francois. I just would hate for that to be the main focus. Stuff like that can come, but there are other areas I'd love for her to redeem herself in. she's already done part of that by being fearless and dropping this bomb ass record

This is copy and pasted from Billboard:
"Unit sales for Digital Tracks priced below $0.39 during their first three months of release will not be eligible for inclusion on Billboard's digital songs charts.
If a retailer offering a title for less than the above stated prices is a daily reporter to Nielsen SoundScan, units will be removed for charting purposes solely for the dates in which the title was priced less than the minimum.
If a title was priced under the minimum during a portion of the day, all sales for that title on that day will not count towards the Billboard charts unless accurate transaction data for that title during the specific sales hours can be provided to Nielsen SoundScan for verification."
Looks as though $.39 is the minimum.

Ok. Cause I was like 99c and no BB charting? When many indie artists sell their singles for 99c? But thanks for clearing that up.
I am so happy for her. This will be a very interesting era.
